Help Construct Pearland's First Cultural Arts Master Plan

Pearland, Texas (October 10, 2023) — Pearland residents are invited to participate in the creation of the city’s first Cultural Arts Master Plan through a variety of opportunities hosted by the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB).
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the team meet-and-greet at the West Pearland Library on Tuesday, October 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a critical community discussion on Wednesday, October 25 at the Horizon Montessori School Theater from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“The arts contribute to economic growth, support local businesses, and attract visitors to our city,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, executive director of the PCVB. “Community perspective is instrumental in the planning process; input from a variety of audiences, including residents, will guide the future of arts and culture here in Pearland.”

The entire process is being guided by Cultural Planning Group (CPG), a national firm that specializes in developing cultural arts plans for cities and counties. They are committed to creating a plan by, with, and for the arts and culture communities of Pearland.
The project kicked off in August with tours of Pearland’s cultural destinations by the PCVB and CPG, and with a meeting of the Cultural Arts Master Plan steering committee to set objectives and develop strategies for the plan. The committee consists of various community members representing a diversity of perspectives from across the city with a focus on engagement and insight to harness emerging opportunities and overcome longstanding challenges.

“The goal is to emerge from this process of discussion and designing with a proper roadmap,” Rohrbacher continued. “A plan to nurture the existing arts and culture community in Pearland and to stimulate the growth and success of new projects and events.”
