  Alvin Community College received high marks in fiscal responsibility according to a recent audit delivered to the college board of regents meeting on January 12.

The auditing firm, Belt, Harris and Pechacek issued an unmodified opinion of the college’s financial statements for the 2021-22 fiscal year.

“We’ve given the college a clean opinion,” said Ben Cohen, senior manager with the firm.

The ACC Foundation also delivered its annual report and fiscal audit during the board meeting. The Foundation issued more than $200,000 in grants, scholarships and other support for the 2021-22 fiscal year, Foundation president Chad Dudley said.

“We were able to make a huge impact on the college this year,” he said.

Regents also:
-approved hires for Nursing instructor, Fitness Center manager, Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, Director of Recruiting and Enrollment and Police sergeant
-approved pay adjustment for Law Enforcement Academy instructor position
-approved purchase of signal booster and radio system for police department
-approved transfer of audited fund balance to institutional reserve
-approved monthly financial reports

The board will have its next meeting on Thursday, February 23 at 6 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
